Seattle School of Body-Psychotherapy

A Somatic Psychotherapy Training Program

Incorporating Core Energetics with contemporary therapies and, with permission, indigenous practices, students of SSBP's integrative certification program gain a strong foundation from which to organize their approach to clients. The result is as spiritual as it is psychological, opening the client's perception to the greater world around them as well as to their own unique offering which I call "Referencing From the Self".

Seattle School of Body-Psychotherapy is founded by myself, Aylee Welch, LICSW (she/ her) and is an enterprise of Body-Psychotherapy of Seattle.

Many clients are seeking deep lasting change through Body-Psychotherapy, and there are not enough trained therapists to serve them. It has become clear to me that my work will have a larger impact if I teach and supervise therapists in this timeless approach; thus, I have created a Body-Psychotherapy/ Somatic Therapy certification program which is part of the network of institutes belonging to the International Association of Core Energetics and is also an institutional member of the United States Association of Body-Psychotherapy.

I have been working with people in therapeutic environments, and writing and teaching since 1989, and have been certified in Core Energetics and Core Soma since 2006. I am an Independent Clinical Social Worker licensed in Washington, California and Oregon.

I am a cis-gendered hetero-sexual woman of Eastern European descent. I strive to be sex positive, body positive and welcome students of all origins and orientations.

SSBP welcomes all adult learners and appreciates that students bring a wealth of helpful experience to their body-psychotherapy studies. Students of SSBP include both non -licensed direct entry practitioners and licensed psychotherapists wanting to specialize and go deeper in their practice and in their personal presence. We also invite people who aren't practitioners but are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and a profound personal transformation.

Therapy interns and those seeking licensure are also welcome, as well as people who work with people in other settings such as yoga teachers and massage therapists. If you are not previously licensed, you may be required to participate in the concurrent Practitioner's Skills Track to learn counseling theories, skills and ethics which will help you to keep up with the class material and to integrate the teachings.

Coaches, Organizational Psychologists and those involved in Leadership Development find that this material illuminates their understanding of people and of people in systems, enhancing and bringing a new level of excitement to their work.

This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886677650-5115) for continuing education contact hours.
